Capitalizing quickly on its success, they worked on a volley of similarly-received remixes, including both of Questia’s ‘Nexus Asia’ and ‘Crystal Clouds’ singles on ASOT and Azior’s ‘Sunset at Myvatn’ on Green Martian. Blake quickly rose through the ranks of local jocks and a big break was just ahead. Some high profile bookings brought on a chance meeting with Armada Music’s head aficionado Armin Van Buuren. After listening to a few of his original productions, Armin contacted Blake and soon after he joined the Armada artist roster. Since that time Armin has invited Blake on several of his world tours as an exclusive special guest performer. Finally, Blake cemented his relationship with Armada Music when he joined a select group of international stars for full summer residencies at Armada’s weekly shindig at Amnesia in Ibiza in 2007 and 2008.

Last night, in ASOT499, @arminvanbuuren confirmed the set times for his shows. Now, a short while ago he announced an extra show for only 500 people in Cape Town on the 17th. I managed to organize tickets to that event, as well as his press conference earlier on the same day. I was expecting to see only Armin for that small gig but surprise surprise, the whole lineup of DJ’s – with the exception of Super8 & Tab – will be performing short 1 hour sets for the pre-party in Cape Town. Sweeet! :)

Then on the 19th of March it happens: A State of Trance Episode 500. What an achievement. And what a party it’s going to be. Reckon it’s really well done.

Some good action sequences and a gadget-filled car weren’t a match for the lame dialogue, silly sound effects and bad acting. Meh.

I hope they do make a sequel. But I hope someone else directs it. It has the potential to be a great movie genre – think Michael Knight with the intelligent car type thing, but with modern day gadgets and special effects – but it just needs better acting and a better storyline.

There’a a load of kickass-looking movies coming out this year / soon like Thor, Captain America, The Green Lantern, Aliens vs Cowboys and I hope they aren’t as disappointing as this one turned out to be.

The Plot

Trendy family moves into neighbourhood and shows off their gadgets & gizmo’s in an attempt to make everyone jealous enough to go out & try keep up with them (see what they did there?). I can kinda see the moral issue they were trying to address – this becomes clear towards the end of the movie, but the way they did it was oh-so-kak. It’s like they tried to be funny, but just couldn’t pull it off. The toilet scene – if you decide to watch it – could have been very funny, but the scene ended and you’re left thinking… Really? That it?

Bottom line is that if you watch this movie, take your phone and a book to keep yourself occupied because otherwise once the music montage’s are over, you’ll be left wondering what better things you could’ve spent fifty-bucks on.
